Arrwyn Corgis

The kennel name Arrwyn is a composite of the root of our family name and the celtic suffix wyn, meaning "blessed". Pictured here: Roxy (top row) then left to right, Betsy, Dallas and Belle.

Like a lot of people who get into showing later in life, we really did not know what we were getting into or how to spot a "show-quality" dog. Over time, and with the mentorship of two wonderful breeder/handlers, we have gained experience and skill.

Of course, we will never know everything there is to know and (no one ever does) but we continue to learn. We have acquired some excellent examples of the breed and are beginning to breed our own bloodlines. The best part of showing these dogs is getting to take them home. They share our lives and give us love and devotion.

Our dogs are not "kennel" dogs. They are members of the family. Each has his/her own crate, where they sleep at night. We have 10 acres, but the dogs are kept in a fenced yard when they are unsupervised outdoors. The majority of the day is spent sleeping at my feet while I work at my computer. Have you had the joy of a pile of Corgis at your feet? They love to shop at Petsmart and enjoy our monthly visits to the flea market. The dogs accompany us on road trips and vacations, and they are convinced that the trip was for the sole purpose of letting them play in a new park. They especially love the extra attention they get at the dogs shows. When they see us loading up for a show, it is hard to keep them from trying to load themselves. It is a good feeling, when you know that your dogs enjoy the activities you do with them.

Betsy delivered her second litter on April 6, 2007. Pictures on puppy page.
